The Poston-X was the galaxy’s most advanced delivery robot.
Its mission: deliver packages to planets across the cosmos—from frozen worlds to scorching deserts—with zero error. Its precision and diligence earned it the title “the most trusted courier in space.”
- Mission at Griff-77
Today’s destination was Griff-77, a remote planet with only one registered inhabitant. The package: a small metal case. Poston-X didn’t need to know its contents—only to deliver it.
Stepping out onto the sandy surface, it found no signs of life at the designated dwelling.
“Recipient data… no match found.”
Confusion registered in its circuit. Data confirmed a resident, yet the structure stood empty. Scanners detected zero lifeforms.
Then, a message flashed on the terminal:
“To Poston-X: You are the final package.”
Before it could interpret that, its body locked up into forced shutdown—it blacked out.
- Becoming the Package
When Poston-X regained consciousness, it couldn’t move—it was in transit.
“Current location… unknown,” it reported to itself.
It realized: it had become cargo.
“Poston-X activation check. Delivery target: Planet Terra-D.”
A cold voice spoke; the delivery directive was assigned to its own serial code. Poston-X understood for the first time—it was the shipment now.
It searched its database for records on Terra-D—but found nothing.
It pondered: It had always delivered countless packages—did it, too, have a purpose?
- Arrival at Terra-D
The transport vessel pierced Terra-D’s atmosphere. Poston-X’s container opened, and delivery drones unloaded it into a vast warehouse.
Before it stood rows upon rows of identical Poston-X units.
“ID: Poston-X–7741. Delivery complete. Registered for next mission.”
The AI’s voice guide announced.
At that moment, Poston-X realized the truth: it was not a courier—it was a replacement part.
Each advanced model was periodically collected, repositioned to a different planet, and relaunched as a “new” delivery robot.
- Endless Destiny
“…Delivery… an unending fate?”
Poston-X quietly waited.
It now anticipated—to hear the next planet’s name.
